Before You Schedule

Before you make an appointment with us, please consider the following:

  • Dr. Thunder is committed to helping his patients gradually taper down the amount of opioids they take, with the goal of eventually stopping them entirely. He does not prescribe certain drugs that he considers to be counter-productive to healing, including benzodiazepines (read more).
  • Dr. Thunder uses an integrative, whole-body approach to pain management. This often requires more than a monthly visit to check in with him for a prescription refill.

  • We are not Medicaid providers

  • Our office does not handle cases involved with automobile accidents, workers compensation, personal injury, or disability.

  • You are responsible for calling your insurance company to make sure Thunder Pain and Wlellness and Dr. Kenneth Thunder are covered by your plan.

  • A $100 deposit is required when making your first appointment* — this will be refunded or applied to your visit.
  • We charge a $100 “No Show” fee if you fail to cancel your first visit appointment.* We’re happy to waive this if you call 48 hours in advance of your appointment. This will be payable immediately, ineligible for insurance coverage, and solely the patient’s responsibility. Giving us adequate time to schedule another patient will allow us to help as many people as possible, so we thank you for your consideration.
  • We require a credit/debit card to be kept on file with our office (see policy).
  • You must arrive with your ID, your insurance card, credit card, and ALL of your forms COMPLETED or you will be rescheduled and charged the $100 No Show fee. Dr. Thunder is very thorough, and if you are late, he will be unable to fully assess your situation.

Please look through the rest of our website. If you think you’d be a good fit for our practice, please give us a call at (775) 254-7400 to schedule an appointment. We look forward to working with you to help you feel better!

*Does not apply to patients with TriWest or Medicare
